Save the Bloogs

Webcore Games is proud to have been one of the studios chosen to create an exclusive launch title for Board, the new console that brings a bold proposition: combining the physical touch of a tabletop with the digital interactivity of a video game — the result of Brynn Putnam’s visionary idea.
More than just a new device, Board represents a new way to play — together. Social, accessible, and tactile, it uses technology to bring people closer rather than pull them apart, redefining the concept of shared fun.
Our challenge gave life to Save the Bloogs, a project entirely conceived and developed by Webcore Games — from game and level design to programming, art, testing, and technical integration.
The original idea came from Seth Sivak, a veteran game designer (World of Warcraft, Spellbreak, among others*) and now part of the Board core team. Seth challenged us with a concept inspired by classics like Lemmings, but with a completely original mechanic, reinvented for the platform’s unique format, and worked closely with our team throughout development.
In Save the Bloogs, players guide tiny, lovable creatures through environments filled with obstacles, traps, and platforms, placing physical pieces on the Board to create paths and clever solutions. Across four different worlds — from dense forests to dangerous volcanoes — each level challenges players to think and experiment, combining logic, timing, and cooperation to save as many Bloogs as possible, in an experience that uniquely blends strategy, physics, and humor.
The development spanned ten intense months, running in parallel with the final stages of the Board’s creation, giving us the opportunity to collaborate closely on shaping the final product. The project brought together a talented team of game designers, level designers, developers, tech artists, and QA, along with our amazing partners Spark (art and valuable creative input) and Andromeda (soundtrack and sound effects).
